A new school year begins!
It is about that time of year again. All of my children will be in school this year. Dyllon will be playing football for the high school. I will be sitting on pins and needles. My youngest will be going to kindergarten and that will be just as hard also. It is hard letting your children grow up. It is hard letting go. You hope that they will be alright at school, and that they will not be picked on or treated badly. You hope that they will treat others with kindness and respect. It is hard in today's society because others do not raise their children with the same morals that you do. Well here is to the 2011-2012 school year, may we all make it to the end in one piece, mentally and physically!!!

Juicing is going wonderful!
Well I have decided to start working food in sooner than I wanted to. I was losing weight a little too fast so I am adding one whole food meal per day. It will be vegetarian with no meat. I had my dinner juice and then I had a organic gluten free vegan burrito. It was yummy. I have to start back slow because I don't want to upset my stomach. Denny had his juice also tonight and he thought it was yummy. I never thought I would get him to drink a "green juice", but he tried it and he likes it now. I will be responsible for making his juices for him every day. I am so proud of him. He has quit smoking now for about three months, has not had a diet drink in a week, and has started to juice with me. Now the only other bad habit is that dipping he does. I can't complain because he has done so much already. Two of his three bad habits gone!!!! We also have a stray dog that has been dumped off at our house. The poor little thing had abrasions on her and ant bites all over her belly. Well she got a good flea bath, and a meal that she needed very badly. I will keep her for a few weeks then try to find her a new home. I'll post pics soon.

UPDATE ON THE ANIMALS ON OUR LITTLE FARM ON THE HILL!
Our two goats, Bandit and Baby, are doing just great! They are growing and are so playful. They run and jump and of course eat. Having the two goats is a great pleasure for our family. I can't wait to start milking hopefully by the end of next year! Our chickens are doing fine. After we introduced Mike to the flock there was a little pecking going on and now the order is back in line. With of course Mike at the top of the pecking order! He keeps the hens in line. There is not so many hen squabbles going on anymore. I think that everything is going to be fine here on The Little Farm on the Hill! I will post some video and pics maybe tomorrow!
Our Summer Vacation!
THE SAND AND BEACH
DYLLON
ME AND EMILY
EMILY HAS TOES LIKE ME!
HUNTING FOR CRABS
DUSTYN, DYLLON, DAWSON AND EMILY
Well we spent a while in Destin Florida! We had so much fun. We stayed in a great condo that had everything just like home. It is the only way to stay with kids. We spent our days laying around on the beach or by the pool. Then we watched movies after dark and also hunted for crabs with our flashlights. We were able to catch many small fish, but some were the size of your hand. The kids also caught fifteen hermit crabs and a slug! Emily wanted to spend the whole time in the water riding the waves on the body board. She is a little fish! The boys just wanted to hunt for crabs and swim. I am sad to say goodbye to Florida. I was actually looking for property in Destin. (secretly of course the rest of the family does not know) I want to move there so badly, and Denny said it is not a bad idea. Not too sure how the goats would do by the beach, or the chickens LOL! Well I will check into it because the prospect is tempting and there are quite a few for sale signs. So we will be looking for a house on the beach! Just me and my happy little family!!!!

DAY 6 OF 15 JUICING!
It is day 6 of 15 for my juicing. It is easier now than when I first started. I was never really hungry to begin with. The juice is very satisfying. I feel better than I have in a long time.

DAY 4 OF 15 JUICING
I am on day four of fifteen of my juicing. Well it was a little hard the first day. But surprisingly I have remained feeling full by juicing. I have not had solid food. I feel like I have more energy today since I have started. One benefit is that I have lost five more pounds. I have not been retaining fluid either. I woke up yesterday for the first time with hands that were not swollen. I did experience headaches during the second day My body is going through a complete reboot. My husband is so proud of me and he is thinking about juicing with me. He is just not used to having a healthy wife. His last wife was completely unhealthy and overweight. Well he has had a new experience being married to me for the last six years. We have always incorporated fruits and vegetables in our diet but not like this. I thought I would never say this but I HAD TO GO BUY MORE KALE!!!! I never ate kale before but it is not too bad juiced. Looks kinda funky but tastes good.
Adding another step to being more healthy!
I am on the search for a good juicer. I would like to incorporate juicing into my daily meals for me and my family. I will update with my experiences with juicing. Wish me luck!

Update on our little farm!
Here are some pictures of our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. They are getting used to us more and more every day. They greet us by calling out to us whenever they see us going outside. They are very friendly. I love to watch them run and jump and play. They have never seen chickens before so that was funny when they first saw them. The chickens ran one way and the goats the other.

My Son is 16 Years Old Now
My son had his 16th birthday party on Saturday. I made him a Nintendo Wii theme cake. It came out delish!!! He is getting so big. I can remember when he was born like it was yesterday. He will be getting his drivers license soon. I'm a little nervous about that. But I guess I will have to let him grow up sometime.

A Home For My Goats
So I have managed to place 15 posts into the ground. That was a job. I have separated the wooden pallets to get the 2x4's. I like to recycle anything that I can. I have chain link fencing that was given to me by my grandparents and also a chain link gate that is old. They don't make the style anymore. I seen on craigslist a pair for sale but the cost of gas money is not worth me driving to get them so I will be making two additional gates. I will post an updated picture at the end of my work day today. I can't work long today with having to work tonight. So I better eat breakfast and get started. It kinda rained me out yesterday. We will be getting the babies this Tuesday. I'm so excited!

Goats are in the plans for the Helg Farm!
Today I am going to start on our goat area. We have purchased two Nigerian Dwarf goats. We will plan on making cheese, butter, yogurt, and yes ICE CREAM!!!! I can't wait. But I will have to wait because they are only six weeks old. So it will be at least a year until we get milk. I can't wait for that. Fresh milk the way it was intended!!! Well I will post picks of the progress over the next few days.
See Ya!

Update on Weight Loss!
Ok guys I have been working somewhat hard on my weight loss. After having four kids my body needed an overhaul. I have lost 30 pounds so far and dropped down to a size 10 pants. My husband is proud of me and I am proud of myself. I love my new body so far, and I am looking like the original me more and more! I love to go outside and work in my yard and with my animals. If anyone needs any encouragement just drop me a line!
Valentines Day 2011!!!
Our Trip To Florida!
My husband and I took an anniversary trip to Orlando, Florida for a whole week. We went to Sea World and Discovery Cove. We had so much fun. While at Discovery Cove we were able to swim with dolphins and sting rays, there is also a coral reef that we snorkeled in. We also reserved a private cabana for the whole day! I am so much in love with my husband. I am glad that we get to spend the rest of our lives together.
Made a Decision to Start Blogging More
Well I have been bad about not keeping up with my blog in a timely manner. So here is our update. We have started a little farm on our property. I am raising 10 laying hens right now. I have three buff orphingtons, and seven americaunas. They give us fresh eggs every day. I am selling my eggs, but it is not much source of an income for me. It actually pays for their feed. So I can't complain. I built the coop and the yard with the help from my mom out of reclaimed wood mostly. I did have to purchase plywood and some posts. The pictures above are of when I just finished my coop. My chickens seem very happy with their home. I do let them roam the yard when I am outside to watch them. I believe that happy chickens give you happy eggs. Fresh yard eggs are many times healthier than store bought eggs.
Just try them for yourself!
